Over the last two weeks I have been finishing off my pitch document and presentation pitch for my game ‘Nature Walk’. Since my last update I have spoken to my tutor and have decided to expand the experimental nature of my game so it’s more focused on the educational values that it can bring, answering the question of is this game an effective method of teaching about nature. In the document I have done this by researching game based methods of teaching and looking at whether interactive learning is more effective then traditional means e.g. books and lectures. Studies have shown that interactive teaching is 6x more effective at helping people learn about a topic compared to traditional methods and that game based learning can offer a retention rate of information of up to 90%. These results support the idea that game based methods of teaching are more effective then traditional means of teaching.

I have also recorded my pitch presentation which aims at selling my game in a pitch. I think I made an effective pitch showing off why my game is experimental and what it aims to achieve. I have also shown in the presentation how I collected information which was via visiting the North Melbury Wood (the forest I am going to recreate) and vlogging my experience making important notes will doing so.
