We were also assigned a text based game to create (to have an idea for by next week).
I have a couple of ideas about some concepts mostly looking into a decision based life game, where the player will make the decisions for a person and which every decision they make will progress them through life. I also had the idea of adding in a face which will react to each decision e.g. if they player decides the don’t want a job. Then the face will change from a happy face into a face with a grubby beard. Think this will be quite an engaging way for the face to tell a story.
Was thinking that the face would have an emoji like style to it. Keeping it simple yet engaging and funny when the faces change.
Looking into what software would be best for a text based game a couple of options are: – Twine[1], AIDungeon[2] and Unity with Fungus[3]. Will have to look into these software with more detail and discus with my team .

Above is the basic concept of my design. Posing the player with a question that will give them two buttons to choose from. Each button will take them down a different path and will change the appearance of the emoji/face.
Taking inspiration from the ‘Escaping The Prison’ [4] I love the art style of this game and that how each decision made leads to funny things happening. Also like the continuous flow of the game each stage is lead on from the previous decision.
Along with the Escaping The Prison I am also ponding over whether to add in a system where there is only one right path. e.g. one path where the player lives. This will add to the player having to remember the correct paths to choice to get further into the game. Like the Simon game [5]
