We looked at the idea of reflective practice and the idea of how we learn and grow. We can learn faster with the help of people/technology that has more knowledge in certain areas then we do, We also learn through playing/experience with the ideas/knowledge we want to learnt. Failure plays a big part in this idea as well as the more you fail the more you learn, going back to the idea that failure is more useful then success; where we can learn more and grow more from failure then we ever could through constant success.
This idea of reflective practice plays a big part in the agile methodology, constantly reviewing and testing your work through iterative sprints. The agile methodology also works really well as it ties into the idea of small goals instead of huge goals, as you’re breaking down the problem into short sprints. This allows you to find issues/failures faster and thus be able to find solutions earlier or whether to change direction completely.
Personally working in sprints I have found that sprints always highlights which tasks need more attention then others and who in the team is struggling and needs more support. Agile methodologies also gives the team more sense of satisfaction as they are able to complete these smaller tasks in their sprints more easily then a big task needed to be completed by the end of the year. Thus helping the team to see/feel their progress.
