With the concept of the first two levels done , I now had to think of what the final level was going to be. So in the story you’d track this drug dealer to his house and found that he wasn’t there. After searching around, you find a underground caving network. I wanted to have the story be that the main antagonist was running away from the player, from his house, then through the cave network and then onto another unique location. Fortunately for me, I had recently got a free asset pack which is a medieval castle [1], I thought this would be an amazing finale to the game, to hunt the main antagonist through a castle. Further to this in the First person shooter pack[2] that I’m using there is a drivable car that you can shoot from. This gave me the idea of having it so that once you exit the caves you’ll travel to the castle via a car and there will be multiple obstacles to pass on the way to the castle. I think adding this element into the game will not only spice up the level but also challenge me further as a level designer as this means that have to mold this level around the car mechanics. If I can get this implemented (which I should be able to) this will be an amazing finish to the game, I can’t wait to get started on implementing this in.

The castle I will be using[1]

I know this seems to be a big ask and goes against what I was saying previously about keeping the scale of the levels down, though with this final level I am happy to use the demo map provided as the final level, as the way it is laid out works perfectly with level structure I had in mind. This means that I only have to design two of the levels and with the cave asset pack being so easy to plug together, this saves me a lot of time when putting the levels together

Now that the story is set and I have all the pieces to make my 3 levelled game, I now need to get started on making sure that I connect these 3 levels up appropriately and make sure that an appropriate game loop is in place. I am aiming to have basic level structure in place by next week, which will give me plenty of time to discuss with peers and my tutor about the scale of the game and to get their thoughts.
