This week my group and I for the second sprint have been focusing on setting up online repositories. I think this has been a tricky process to set up as it is a fairly new concept to me, though looking at the implications this will have on future collaborative work (and solo projects) having online repositories is essential for any group work. I thought I should talk about this as I have only used repositories like GitHub[1] once or twice before, not really getting to grips with it as I always saw it as just online storage, so would prefer to use software like Google Drive etc. Then I ran into version control which I can already see as a life savior for future projects and am already benefiting from having previous version of my work safely stored on Github. Can definitely tell that this will be a huge tool in my current project (System Error (Sprint2)) and future work. I also think this has opened my eyes up to how work is passed around in industry and think this will definitely be something that employer looks for. Making sure that you are comfortable with version control definitely seems like a huge bonus when it comes to approach businesses/ future employers.
